Join Us for the 11th Annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
This gathering includes breakfast, prayer, music and a message designed to spotlight the importance of prayer in our lives.

Alex Kirk is the lead pastor at Chatham Community Church, a thriving multi-site church in Chatham County, located just south of Chapel Hill. He is active in community efforts to bring unity to the county, especially across racial lines, and he serves on the Chatham YMCA advisory board. Prior to his time in Chatham, he worked for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, a college campus ministry, where he built ministries at colleges in Virginia and North Carolina, including at an HBCU (Historically Black University). He is a published author and conference speaker with a deep love for Jesus and for building Christ-centered communities of human flourishing that leave life in their wake.
