About the Game
Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is played on a court the same size as a doubles badminton court and measures 20 feet wide and 44 feet long. The court is used for both singles and doubles play. The net height is 36 inches at the sidelines and 34 inches in the middle. The game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced game for experienced players.

The Equipment
When playing pickleball, each player uses a pickleball paddle, which is smaller than a tennis racquet but larger than a ping-pong paddle. Next is the pickleball. The ball itself is unique. It is a perforated plastic ball with holes through it like a wiffle ball. There are different ball models intended for indoor and outdoor play. The ball travels at 1/3 the speed of a tennis ball and is usually white or yellow in color.

Book: The Last Tudor by Philippa Gregory

The latest novel from bestselling author Philippa Gregory, features one of the most famous girls in history, Lady Jane Grey, and her two sisters, each of whom dared to defy her queen.

Jane Grey was queen of England for nine days. Her father and his allies crowned her instead of the dead king’s half sister Mary Tudor, who quickly mustered an army, claimed her throne, and locked Jane in the Tower of London. When Jane refused to betray her Protestant faith, Mary sent her to the executioner’s block, where Jane transformed her father’s greedy power grab into tragic martyrdom.

“Learn you to die,” was the advice Jane wrote to her younger sister Katherine, who has no intention of   dying. She intends to enjoy her beauty and her youth and fall in love. But she is heir to the insecure and infertile Queen Mary and then to her half-sister, Queen Elizabeth, who will never allow Katherine to marry and produce a Tudor son. When Katherine’s pregnancy betrays her secret marriage, she faces imprisonment in the Tower, only yards from her sister’s scaffold.
