We offer a variety of opportunities for our teens through programs focused on providing quality programming and enrichment. Whether your teens hang out in our Teen Center, volunteer with our Teen Leaders' Club, are part of the Youth and Government program, or participate in our Teen Fit Program, we can keep your teens engaged.
Teen Center (West Cabarrus)
The Teen Center at the Y's West Cabarrus Branch offers a fun, safe place for teenagers to hang out with their friends. Enjoy the rock-climbing wall, check out computer games, play pool or just chill.
Middle School After School (West Cabarrus & Kannapolis)
Teen Programs at the Y provide opportunities for character-building, leadership development, community service and fun.
The Y offers a middle-school, age-appropriate program after the school day. We provide the security and supervision required by working parents matched with the fun, flexibility and popular interest demanded by middle-school-aged students. Providing positive influences, the Y Middle School program is focused on providing quality programming and enrichment.
Middle School Madness (West Cabarrus)
Middle School Madness is the place to be!
Scheduled on the 2nd Saturday night of each month, featuring dance music, rock climbing, bounce houses and snacks.
Teen Fit Program
This 1-2 hour course is for teens ages 13-15. Individuals (at Kannapolis) and groups of up to three (at West Cabarrus and Harrisburg) meet with a Fitness Specialist one hour a week to learn about the history of the YMCA, muscle anatomy, proper equipment set up and fitness center etiquette. After passing a fitness test, participants may work out in the fitness center.
Teen Leaders' Club (West Cabarrus)
Leaders' Club at the YMCA is a program designed to teach teens the basics of great leadership through quality and quantity of leadership training, enjoyable experience, and volunteer opportunities. Over 6,000 community service hours were logged in the program last year, and we invite you to be a part of an even better year.
Youth and Government (West Cabarrus)
Youth and Government is a national program for high school students allowing them to take part in a 1,000-member mock state legislature including a Senate, House of Representatives, press, lobbyists, judicial system and more!
